May 29th 2015

I had very little hope for today,
as I went to bed pretty sore.
But I popped out of bed
and caught Caroline JUST before she left
and got to be a sidekick for a couple hours.

We headed out to Norma's
to make our pick ups,
then off to Paper Passion
to drop off Norma's yard sale items
and retrieve the lost journal.
Then...
as happens with super heroes...
a brilliant idea struck us.
A trip into Remark
for supplies,
and we were dashing off
back to St Thomas!

Within an hour...
we packed up and switched vehicles.
The sidekick became the super hero,

and vice versa!
The Blue Pearl was on the road to Woodstock.
Kim was expecting us,
and we were in the mood to scrapbook.

We arrived about 2:30
and spent 7 hours playing with pretty paper
cutting, pasting, eating
and laughing.

Kim was a lovely hostess,
I can't wait until next week when her
big new shipment arrives!

We loaded up the Blue Pearl
and headed off to WalMart
(theirs is open until 11pm)
to pick up a dessert for tomorrows
741 Cadet Annual Parade.
One of Judy's last official functions as
Commanding Warrant Officer First Class.
She will have to hand over this position
to another cadet as she is moving on to the Reserves,
by passing on the flag to the next deserving cadet,
as was done with her in February.
She cannot be in both cadets and the Reserves.

When I got home,
and we started unloading the Blue Pearl,
Caroline left a trail of scrapbooking
from the truck to her truck.
Amongst everything
that we had found amusing all day,
this was a great finale to the night.

John and Judy took the photo
and then helped her gather it all up!

Good thing the last thing
she said in Woodstock was:
"I really need to empty that tote"
because it was everywhere!

Our little family
took Shooter for a walk
and then slowly
one by one everyone headed for bed.
I am sitting comfortably in front of a fan,
with everything locked.

Last night was an interesting night!!!!
Sometime during the night
someone broke into and ransacked my truck.
They took some loose change
that maybe amounted to 50 cents
(they didn't take the dimes ~ but they needed to steal?)
and they broke into at least
one more vehicle on our street.

AND

at 12:30am I had a visitor!
The dog was going bananas and woke me up.
I opened my eyes and found a cat
looking at me from the other side of the bed!!!

Apparently he/she does not understand
that a doggie door
is not meant as a welcome for ALL animals.
It realized its mistake
and before we could even think about catching it
it sped down the stairs and out the door.

Well thats all from here.
Tomorrows the big parade,
Next weekend is Judy's 18th birthday,
then she goes for her full licence.
In the following weeks we have
the swearing in ceremony,
exams and graduation.

I am going to need
our vacation at the cottage
by the first week of July!

Good night from John Street.
