November 13th and 14th 2016

VACA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom gave me a gift certificate
for one night in Frankenmuth MI
for Christmas last year.
So we finally went.

Go time was 8am.
Our van was loaded Saturday night,
so all we had to do was grab
our purses and go.....
except Mom forgot her meds.
ugh!
Back we came, grabbed them,
and headed to the meeting spot.

We met up with
our counterpart vehicle
and it was time to go.
8:30am.

Crossed the bridge with no problem
and it was smooth sailing
through MI and right
to Birch Run Mall.
We arrived early,
so we did a tour through
Lenox and Corning.

The other car needed fuel
and then it was right
to 24 Christmas Lane!
YAYYAY
We passed by and checked into
our rooms at the Drury Inn.
Lovely and 12:30.

We dropped our bags,
all went pee,
and headed to Bronners.
We met up for lunch
and then divided up
to shop until 4pm.

Back into the vehicles,
we slowly toured up through
the Main Street
and made a pit stop
at the fudge factory
where we watched them
making salt water taffy
and bought some yummy fudge.

Back to the Drury Inn,
we headed down for 5:30
and a wonderful assortment of foods
and some big people drinks
to go with them.
6:30pm

Time to load up the vehicles
and drive by Bronners
to see the whole place lit up!
We took our time
and made a few passes
and actually went into the Silent Night Chapel.

We dropped Mom off
back at the hotel
and because she was whining,
we went out to find her a donut.
Off to Zehnders and the Bavarian
and we found her a huge cherry fritter.
9pm

Back at the room we were busy
finishing our big people drinks
and getting comfy in pjs.
Mom took one whole bed,
Connie grabbed the sofabed,
so I spooned Caroline for the night.

We were pretty much all passed out
from all the giggling by 10pm.

Sunday morning
we all straggled down
for an amazing breakfast
that was included.
8:30am

Packed up the room,
packed the vehicles,
and off to River Place,
an open air mall.

We walked around the whole area
checking out all the stores
until they opened at 10am.
I got some great gifts bought
and seen some cool stuff.
11:00am

Off our vehicle went
and we parked near the Cheese Haus.
We started back at the fudge store
and walked the entire length
of the main downtown shopping area
ending up at Zehnders for lunch
at the arranged meeting time.
1pm

Lunch was yummy,
the girls headed down
to see the Bavarian shopping area
while I got the van
and loaded the scooter and walker.

Time to wave to Bronners
but not before we drove
through to see the outside décor
just one more time.
2:30pm

Off we went to the dollar store
we always stop at
in Birch Run to see
what they had new
in the scrapbooking area.
(its huge)
A pee break and
I programmed the GPS
and we were off once again,
to shop till we dropped.
3:30pm

First stop was a BIG K!
I always stop because
they carry 2x ladies Christmas shirts.
we had a lot of fun
and all spent too much.
5:30pm

Next stop was Hobby Lobby.
We helped a mom
and gave her car a boost.
I hit a giant deal on candy
and stocked up for Christmas.
6:30pm

Tine for some supper.
We decided on Olive Garden!
Good old GPS said it was 1 mile away.
Off we headed, detoured only
by the fact that we seen a Golden Corral.
The line was out the door.
We continued on
and went to Olive Garden.
WHERE what to our wondering eyes
should appear?????
JoAnnes was right beside it.
A 2 for 1.
Everyone ate lots,
and after I gassed up the van ($1.84)
we told the GPS to head for home.
8:45pm

Over the bridge
and through customs no problem.
Dropped Mom in London at the hotel,
Connie at home in St Thomas,
Caroline at home and I dragged my butt
into the house at midnight,
found my bed and crashed
without emptying the vehicle!

Good night from John Street
