The day that never stopped
Causing me heartache.

It seems no matter what was next
On the docket today,
It was just another unpleasant
Problem rearing it's head!

Alarm went off,
Body with pain meds said "nope"
And instantly went back to sleep.
No church again this morning.

Got up, dressed and started packing,
Only to be dropping stuff
And getting the third degree
About how much we had to bring.

Went to grab chicken for lunch
But we were to early for breaded
So had to suffice with
A whole bbq chicken.
(My week to bring lunch)
*forgot the mustard

Got to Valleyview only to find
Dad in one of those flaky moods,
Where he claims he "is not with it" ...
Unless there is cake or food involved.

John was going to do coffee
But he was a bit disorganized
This morning and quickly
Ended up with a mess
AND people waiting.
I went in and helped catch up
And clean up.

Set up the gingerbread house
Competition area in the hidden room
After we exchanged gifts
With an out of town friend we
will not see again until the new year.

The completion was fierce!
Everyone started with the same
Premade house and it was on.
2 hours later, a staff member came in
And gave points for 6 specific details.
The award went to the Wilkinson's.

We got all packed up,
After a resident came in
Angry she did not know
Where she was supposed to go!
We headed home.

Transporting the house was a little
Bit of a hassle,
But it arrived intact.

I spent 2 whole hours at that point
Realizing I was exhausted.
At 5 I had a melt down
About getting anything accomplished!

I straightened the house
And was watching a holiday
Cooking show when John's friends
Showed up with their tiny dog Reese.

The girlfriend was in the same mood
So we commiserated over cookies
And baking shows
While the guys had a "quick"
95 minute cigarette in the garage.

A late night snack of grilled cheese
And I am off to bed.
