Trivia time:

Christmas is a contraction of “Christ’s Mass,” which is derived from the Old English Cristes mæsse (first recorded in 1038). The letter “X” in Greek is the first letter of Christ, and “Xmas” has been used as an abbreviation for Christmas since the mid 1500s.[3] 45 In 1962, the first Christmas postage stamp was issued in the United States.

Who else can hear
their Grandma screaming
"do not write it that way,
never take the Christ
out of Christmas".

Today was all about
making homemade chocolates.
In the end I had made
milk chocolate, white chocolate
and dark chocolate:
almond
cashew
peanut
toffee peanut
walnut
raisin
pretzel
cookie bite
and caramel popcorn candies.

And I made pink
maraschino cherry chocolates.
With the leftovers
(which I have never had before)
I made candy cane bark
for the first time.

It took forever
and one burnt pot of chocolate.
Not much of a mess,
just wait time
while the chocolate cooled
enough to move and container.

Tonight was National Lampoon
Christmas Vacation night.
That means a table full
of munchies and appetizers.

By 9pm
everything was back in order
and I finally sat down.

John is in bed now,
Greg has headed back to Windsor,
Judy is going to wrap gifts
and I am going to watch
a movie called
"my dad is scrooge".

Tomorrow is Remicade,
it is also the day Dad moves
into Valleyview for respite
until mid January.

Time to say good night
from John Street.
