NOVEMBER 21 and 22

November 21st 2017

Up early.
Today is trip day
And I am ever so thankful
I am feeling so much better
Than just a couple days ago.

I organized the van,
Gassed and cleaned it up
And loaded basics yesterday,
So I had very little
To do before heading out
To pick up my passengers.

I arrived in plenty of time
To call Bell to add a 2 day
American plan to my phone (jic)
And get comfortable
Before heading state-side.

The other vehicle arrived,
And after checking our lists
(Twice hahhahahaha)
And informing the passengers
Of the plans and rules,
We were off.

We made quick work of getting
To Birch Run and to
Bob Evans for lunch
Before it started to rain.

Did that
dampen our shopping spirit?
NOPE!!!!!!!

We managed to get
Into Frankenmuth proper by 4ish.
Bolted over to the Cheese Haus,
Then watched them
Make salt water taffy,
And taste tested some fresh fudge.

Headed to the hotel
And we all got checked in.
1 suite and 1 room.

Supper is included,
And 3 drinks each...
So we headed down for
The 5pm kickback.

Gave the passengers
The PlayBook for the night
And gave them 10 minutes
To get loaded in the van.

Off to Bronner's.
Got my scooter trash unloaded
And off we went to inspect
The store with some newbies,
Some who have not been there
In a quarter century
And some who just like shopping!

Before leaving,
We made the customary
Slow ride through the
Amazing lit parking area!

Everyone crashed at this point.

November 22nd 2017

Up for our free breakfast.
One by one we all met downstairs.

A play by play was planned
And everyone was off.

My first job
was to get the van straightened up
And ready for luggage
And shopping bags.

Stop one was the Silent Night Church
While Mom ran into Bronner's
To grab her stocking hangers.

Both vehicles then headed
Back to the fudge and cheese stores
And that's when groups split up.

The meeting place was the market
In the lower level of Zehnders.

Our group:
Hit a few stores on the main drag,
Did a bit of River Place shopping,
Did the Bavarian Inn market concourse
And finally got to Zehnders.

We all had lunch.
Vans were reloaded,
Tylenol was passed around,
And we were off for KMart
Where fun was had by all
With a great sale going on,
Sizes and styles that fit,
Some amazing finds
And then we were off again.

WalMart this time
Where one piece pyjamas
Were the topic of discussion
And many awesome Christmas sweaters.

Hobby Lobby followed that.
50% off sale on all Christmas!

Dinner was next
At Cracker Barrel.
Fun shopping, great finds
And shock for each person
Was found.
Yup, these girls were going
To get hauled in at the border!!!!!!!!

We made good time getting
Back to the Port Huron area,
Stopped for gas and a pee break
Just in case,
There were long lines on the bridge.

Good driving weather,
And no lines at the border either!!!!!
Both of vehicles passed back
Into Canada without incident.

Back in St Thomas by 11:15.

I am home now,
Tired, a little sore
And going to sleep.
