September 10th 2015

Such a mix of emotions tonight. After having a lovely 3 course dinner together, we headed out to the armouries for a totally different reason than the last 6 years.

Tonight Judy was sworn in as a Canadian Military Reservist. After 2 hours of paperwork, they swore her in, and then did another hour of paperwork. Much of that paperwork, has rules and obligations that I still have to read about sharing photos and information about her whereabouts from now on.

She should get her gear in the next few weeks, and then it is off to training.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this next career step she has taken. Many emotions from many guests!! A lot of pride at her accomplishment... but also a little fear, jealousy, worry and of course the natural "she's too young" part.

Oh Canada!
You have a new fighter.
My daughter will
Be on the side of right.
With great big dreams
Of train...ing
She swore to protect you!
God keep my girl,
Safe from enemies
No matter where she is!
Please do this one
thing just for me...
Keeping her safe
Is what we hope
Each night!
We are so proud
To be her parents
Tonight!

Good night from John Street proud to be doubly named Veteran's Way.
