Our first day at Windswept was wonderful.

A late night means naturally an early morning today. BUT it was worth the effort. Today was the day we were heading to the Port Lambton cottage, Windswept. The cottage sleeps 10+ but this time we only had 8 going. It is set up for crafters and quilters. So each of us has packed up projects. My truck had 3 women and a whole lot of stuff. The three of us were packed up and ready to go before 10am. So we got on the road with Maggie (my GPS).

Our first stop was Tim Hortons and then we set the GPS for Blenheim. We had located a store called The Paper Angel Studio.

So worth the trip. Friendly and super helpful. Lots of beautiful supplies. We spent a lot of time there.

Then it was a new setting on the GPS. Port Lambton was calling. We stopped for a quick soup and sandwich lunch together before getting to the cottage. Our route followed the St Clair river. It was beautiful. Amazing cottages and docks and scenery. Just driving down the road was relaxing.

We arrived right behind one of the other vehicles.
It took a bit of maneuvering but we all unloaded around the same time! The last vehicle arrived minutes after we did.

We all set our table areas up out in the huge front porch. One side of the porch had 4 women who prefer chilly and the other side wanted heaters! This is quite the thing to watch. 8 women trying to unpack and set up their area so they can start working on this paper craft we all love.

Then it was time to choose our rooms. Connie and I chose the front room with a double bed and a cot (which is super comfy). Part of the amazingness of this cottage is that when you arrive, the bedding and linens are all fresh and bagged sitting on each bed. There is something comforting about knowing the sheets and towels you are using are fresh, and there are always plenty of comforters, pillows and quilts.

We spent the of the afternoon scrapping and I managed 5 layouts before supper. Linda was busy running back and forth trying to get photos of the passing boats on the river.

Joyce and Connie made supper and it was pretty good . . .  inside out chicken divan, stuffed baked potatoes, veggies and coleslaw. 4 kinds of cheesecake for dessert.  The chatter was all over the board. Lots of laughing and in pjs!

I wanted a snack!

There was fruit brought so I grabbed an apple about 10pm. I wanted some tylenol so I headed up to our room, thinking I could put some pyjamas on at the same time.

Um........apparently I had chosen the magic apple from Snow White! I fell asleep while getting my pjs on.
