Good gravy where did the day go?????

Early morning,

as we all headed to mass

for Mother's Day.

We had planned a picnic breakfast

sitting under the lilacs,

but alas the weather did not co-operate.

So we packed it up

and headed for mom and dad's condo.

John made a wonderful breakfast of:

pancakes

sausage and bacon

scrambled eggs (thanks Dawn)

hash browns and toast

fruit and dip

cheese

banana bread

and assorted juices and coffee.

We were all very full.

Mom and I both got some lovely plants

and cards to celebrate.

Her gift from John

was a wine glass full of screws

and wall plugs,

and then he set about

hanging all the last bits of shelving

for her knick knacks.

Judy operating on 3 hours sleep

(she worked until almost 5am)

was sent home for a nap.

John took me out

and bought me a double white lilac!

We ordered Chinese food,

and when we got back to the condo,

we video taped Dad

TRANSFERING from wheelchair

to his recliner with VERY LITTLE

assistance from anyone!

NOW I have something to work with

with his physio therapist.

If a 75 year old woman can do this...

So,

a wonderful supper,

lots of leftovers for this week,

and Mom's to do list

is all scratched out once more.

She got all her quilting supplies

packed up in a tool box (for Tuesday)

just in case she feels up to going.

Tomorrow she has surgery

and will be required to stay

for at least one night.

No big scary surgery,

just old lady maintenance.

After we figured out all the plans

it will be another earl morning

for me tomorrow,

so I am signing off early.
