Happy St Patrick's Day

John got home late
which meant noon before
I sent him to bed.

I spent the afternoon
handmaking Easter cards
gift tags
and setting the table for tonight.

Not only will Judy be home,
bringing Greg for dinner
but its St Patrick's Day.

John was not in the mood
for the corn beef and cabbage dinner
we traditionally have,
and Judy advised me last night
she doesn't want to see ham and eggs
for a long time.....
that's all they've eaten this week!

**if you remember
back to the night she left.....
I thought I was being so nice
making her breakfast for supper...
yes ham and eggs.

Judy finally made contact
with us last night.
It had been 5 days, 2 hours and 35 minutes
since we heard from her!
She had "the experience of a lifetime"
(her words not mine)
and was exhausted, dirty and cold.
She advised us she would be home for supper.
She also let us know
she hurt her bad foot again
when it got caught in a rut,
and had gotten it all taped up by medics.
She also had hypothermia on Tuesday.

I bet she goes to bed tonight
and we don't see her before lunch tomorrow!

Tonight was all about comfort food.
We had chicken burgers
(Judy's favourite)
mac salad, house salad, coleslaw,
deep fried French fries, pickles,
green sprite and vanilla cupcakes.

Good night from John Street
