December 7th 2014

What an amazing day.

Judy started us off with a big pancake breakfast. My favourite breakfast food.

John went on his usual Sunday visit of the neighborhood, while Judy and I did the (now regular) Christmas organizer work and post it note wall for this week.

What would you do for $10?????????

At 11am I posted a $10 bill on the wall
to see who could complete the largest number of chores/post its by 5pm.
It was kind of funny to watch them fly all over
trying to choose the simplest jobs to complete.
I also decided it was their week to do the laundry... hehehehehe

So, a lot got done,
and most of it is not even visible
to most.
The back deck plastic has been repaired
from that ridiculous wind storm 2 weeks ago.
The white tree out there is now lit
and the back deck swept and partly decorated.

The kitchen tree is finally fluffed up and lights for it were found (yay)
the space above the kitchen cupboards
is so close to complete, it pains me to have to wait...
until the red ornaments are found!
The 5 boxes of kitchen decor have not provided them yet.

The 4' grapevine wreath suspended above the island
now has green garland, candy garland and paper ring garland on it.
The snowman display now has lanterns.
The nutcrackers now have greenery.
The cookie cutters now are tied with twine.

John and Judy got all the laundry washed, dried and folded
before one needed a nap and the other had to go to work.

Aunt Sandra's photos are ordered.
Connie's photos are ordered.

ANOTHER bag of stuff has been sent to donation!

Tomorrow is wrapping day.
Right now
I need some sleep.

AND here is tonight's 8 ideas

  • Pray that God will help you see opportunities to be a blessing to others this Christmas
  • If you are having trouble deciding on children's gifts,
ask friends who have children that age or sex for ideas
  • Save the receipts for EVERY gift you buy. Create a specific spot you put them all
  • Learn the names of Santa's reindeer
  • Learn the second verse of Jingle Bells
  • Challenge someone to sing the twelve days of Christmas
  • Create a gag gift that is passed around the family members every Christmas
  • Use candles safely!
    1) do not leave unattended
    2) be sure it is firmly anchored to what it is sitting on
    3) use the right size candle holder

Good night
