My husband out-shopped me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We made a list checked it not only twice but 3 times!!!!!!!!!!
and we were on the road just after 8am
list, flyers and coupons in hand.

Last night, we went through all the flyers,
deciding on gifts for the people on our "relatively good" list.
Then we made a game plan on the route we would take
to be most efficient.

This morning over coffee,
we finalized those plans and got going,
John on coffee, me on coke.

First stop, Timmies and gift cards!
Then off for cigarettes, TSC, Michaels, Canadian Tire,
Dollarama, Starbucks, Toys r Us, Giant Tiger.
Up to this point I was pretty good at sticking to ONLY what was on the list
and we were doing well on getting MOST of the items we were looking for.

At noon we picked up Judy.

Back to St Thomas to Brix and Stix, Burger King for lunch,
Walmart and then Shoppers.
There were still 2 places left on my list and I just couldn't do it.
Getting a new phone will have to wait.

I asked to go home!

Exhausted, we decided to sit till 4pm
before attempting to put away a car full of purchases.
At 3:45 Judy came downstairs and found both of us asleep on the sofa!!!
She laughed as she headed out the door to work.

According to my figures I will be done my shopping by Wednesday as planned....
and if I have a successful Monday,
it will be wrapped too!

Judy got off work early
and came through the door just as supper was being put on the table.

We decided it was popcorn and a do nothing night.

So, it is the annual Shannon family watching of the movie.
John's favourite movie of all time.
Thank goodness that was the decision because I am still pooped from all the shopping today.

So it is a "computer and phone free" evening.

But first:

  • Turn off the lights and put on the music of White Christmas. Ask your spouse to dance
  • Tour a historic home in your city that has been decorated for the holidays
  • When you phone a store during the holidays,
ask the clerk "do you have a customer or do you have time to answer a question"
  • Open gifts with holiday music playing in the background
  • Secretly shovel the snow off your neighbors walkway
  • Answer your phone by saying "Merry Christmas"
  • Throw orange or tangerine peels in the fireplace for a spicy aroma
  • Write names and dates on the back of photos but not through the center!
write around the edges to keep the actual photo safe
Good Night
