For those fellow chronic disease suffers this Christmas.

Yes, the tree(s) should  be up, gifts should  look beautiful and there should  be no missing part of the dinners. The house should  be clean, no one should  fight, travel should  be easy and homemade treats should  not burn. The kids should  be angels, your husband should  behave............

and unicorns should  walk the earth!

If this is not what happens on a regular basis
WHY would you expect these 2 days to be different?????

It is like watching a child
have a temper tantrum in an amusement park or store...
no one has ever said NO to them before,
so they choose a very public place to say NO  for the first time.

Do not be like that child having a temper tantrum this Christmas!
Take the good with the bad
accept that not  everything will be perfect
and enjoy your imperfect holiday.

8 more simple ideas...

  • Keep all packing cartons in case you have to make returns
  • Whenever possible send a photo of yourself enjoying the gift you are saying thank you for
  • Try to have your thank you cards mailed by Jan 15th
  • If you are having trouble deciding on a gift, talk to a personal shopper
  • If your children are older, offer to take a friend's younger child out to enjoy some Christmas festivities
  • Research your family history and serve a dish this year your ancestors may have enjoyed
  • Amidst the hustle and bustle, the stress and strain, remember to be good to yourself
  • If you can't sit everyone at one table, have 2 and switch seats between courses

    Good Night
