November 7th 2014

I love days that allow you to find what you are looking for at a price you can afford. John's days off this week changed this morning, so I spent a few hours gathering up some bits and pieces, parts and tools that were requested for a few home renovation jobs.

Tonight I went the first open house of the season at Berry Hill. I got 3 great ideas for decorating and seen some beautiful decorations too.

I am out for the whole day with Connie in Michigan tomorrow. We have been invited to a scrapbooking event at Birch Run.... so we are leaving early in the morning and going to start our holiday season by seeing the lights in Frankenmuth before we leave.

Another day,
another 8 little hints for a great holiday season.

  • Throw restraint to the wind, Christmas is the one time of year bigger is better and gaudy is good
  • Don't wait to wrap gifts until Christmas eve, wrap them as you go
  • Give a young member the honour of placing the star/angel on the tree
  • When sending a perishable gift, schedule the delivery when someone will be home or at work to receive it
  • Go caroling
  • Avoid backtracking when doing your holiday shopping, be sure you are done in each department before moving on to the next one
  • Instead of usual bedtime stories, read to your children about customs and traditions in other countries
  • Check for loose or burned out bulbs BEFORE putting the strings on the tree
Good night.
