Christmas Eve 2020

Normally Christmas Eve

Is a flurry of activities

And long to do lists.

After my encounter with that

Small family yesterday,

My "need to do" list

Seemed less important to accomplish.

I put the deliveries in the car

And headed out to deliver 

Day 12 of the days of christmas

Plus a few extra drop offs...

And a big load of items

For the birthday girl Connie.

I did instead - what I deemed

"Necessary" as it had already been promised

And spent the day doing

Some last minute decorating,

Prepping, baking and wrapping.

Tonight was Chinese food at Mom's

And exchanging homemade gifts.

Then we relaxed

Before braving the storm

And going to search out some 

Local light displays.

11:30 and we were escorted 

Into the church and to our

Designated seats for midnight mass.

Got mom home

And I headed for bed -

I am seriously exhausted.

John is doing a few

"I'll get to it" chores

That he never got to

Before he comes up.
