On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz concentration camp—a Nazi concentration camp where more than a million people were murdered—was liberated by the Red Army during the Vistula–Oder Offensive. Although most of the prisoners had been forced onto a death march, about 7,000 had been left behind. The Soviet soldiers attempted to help the survivors and were shocked at the scale of Nazi crimes. The date is recognized as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I got up.
By 1pm I had managed to take care
of a lot of mini chores
that were hanging around
on the to do list.

I managed to take back my kitchen,
I managed to do a couple loads of laundry,
We managed to put away the 2PNT items
and I packed up all holiday
in the living room and 2 more surfaces.

I did some cooking
and made John sausages and coleslaw for supper
(I was hoping to bbq them but alas...)
I also prepped for the rest of the week's meals.

My job tomorrow is some more
"hang on chores" and a few errands.

Good night from John Street
