December 27th 2014
In just 4 days it will be New Year`s Eve.
A time to decide what you would like to change in your life.
Could be the way you have the furniture in your bedroom.
Could be a healthier you for the coming year.
Could be anything..................
But these statistics show that New Year`s resolutions are very unsuccessful:
My choice again this year, instead of a resolution is to:
*live today like it will never happen again
(because it won`t)
*try to ignore the stupid and thoughtless
(because getting angry won`t help)
*live each day the way YOU want
(not the way someone else expects you to)
*look at how wonderful a life you have
(others have it much worse)
*enjoy your family
(while they are still here)
*enjoy your friends **online or in person
(you are lucky to have them)
*support your partner with love
(no matter how much you want to hit them with a bat!)
*take the time to say Thank You
(you may wish you had later)
Changing is simple, when you do not try to make LARGE changes quickly and without thought.
Get healthier by walking the dog/cat/hamster/husband, add more veggies to your diet and less chips and dip BEFORE you spend $$$$$ and join the gym.
Change your mental state by volunteering with animals or humans.
One phone call or letter can repair years of time apart. Make the first step.
Create order in your life by choosing small projects to do yourself and making larger ones a family event. Celebrate the accomplishment with a pizza dinner (frozen or take out) or hot chocolate and timbits.
Eek out some special time with your household. Start a weekly tradition of breakfast together every Sunday morning, or hot dog wraps and a movie every tuesday night.
What are you going to do with a fresh, new 365 days of a brand new year?
Good night from John Street
