JAN 15
January 15th 2017
What a day.
Woke early
and felt pretty good.
I guess a whole day of nothing
was pretty good for me.
Got dressed,
had a tea,
and started our first
"sunday family day"
of this new year.
With all the changes,
around here in St Thomas,
and all the holidays,
having a life that is organized,
was NOT in the cards.
Last week was sooooo busy,
and with that
finally came a bit of
permanent relief.
Dad is adjusting to his new floor
and his private room
very nicely and was in
fantastic spirits for our
new family Sunday tradition.
Lunch by the fireplace
(or in the summer on the patio)
started today.
When we get it all organized
and everybody in sync:
We will meet in time for
the Catholic Mass at 10:30,
lunch together,
a game or something
while staying screens free
and generally catching up
with everyone's week.
Harvey's was the decision
for today's meal,
and we talked and laughed
and generally had a pretty
fantastic time till about 2.
Dad was ready for a nap!
He is looking better everyday
so the antibiotics
must be working their magic.
Mom is starting to feel better
and today we all managed
to organize a bit more of the house.
The garage looks great
now that John has the cabinets
in place and filled
and has the tools hung.
Judy and Greg managed
to get the Christmas boxes
all into cold storage
and sort of sort out
the tool room boxes.
Charlotte popped by
and helped mom unpack
some of the art
that was still in boxes.
The mirror finally is hung,
the picture in the dining room too.
Many boxes were emptied
and broken down
AND
the last Bombay Company bookcase
finally got built and filled.
The pool room is looking really great.
Dinner tonight was chinese food.
(Hope the stove comes soon!)
We did the final main floor cleaning
and let the dog out
at 11pm... and sent Mom to bed.
I came home,
made my to do list
and packed for Ugly o'clock
tomorrow's run to
North London for Remicade.
Yes, it has been 4 weeks already.
Its going to be a pretty full bed,
as the dog and cat were alone
for most of the day
and can't wait to crawl into our bed...
So much for me getting any comforter!!!!!!
Good night from John Street
